PHUKET: The saga of a British man who has barricaded himself in a condo in Phuket Town amid a tenancy dispute continued yesterday (Feb 2) as the fire brigade was called in amid fears he might jump from the ninth-floor unit, prompting emergency services to respond and a visit by the Phuket Governor.

Bed-ridden man rescued from dirty shophouse

Police on Sunday came to the rescue of an ailing, bed-ridden Thai man in his 30s at a roadside shophouse in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao istrict after a citizen alerted the Pavena Foundation for Women and Children on Saturday that the man had called for help from passers-by.

Two men killed as truck crashes into SUV

A Thai man and a Chinese man, who had pulled over to the side of a road in Pathum Thani province early on Sunday to attend to a call of nature and were returning to their Toyota Fortuner, were killed when a trailer truck crashed into their SUV.

Leopard cub smuggled on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to India

A one month old leopard has been found in a passenger’s hand luggage after landing in Chennai, India after a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok. The young leopard was weak and dehydrated when it was discovered.

eCommerce in Thailand grew to  Bt3.2 trillion  last year: ETDA

Thai eCommerce grew the most in the Asean region last year, due to changes in consumer behaviour, and its value is expected to hit Bt3.2 trillion, the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) said on Saturday.
