I am due for my yearly renewal in a couple of months.

Due to difficulties in getting my flights arranged to allow a reasonable time when have to go back to the U.K., I am left with a tight schedule to sort the paper work ect. out on my return.

Is it possible to go a few days after the date it expires please ? just in case i get a hickup or something happens that is unpredictable.

Also what is the earliest you can go for your renewal prior to it expiring ?

I am tempted to try for a child support visa as this seems an easier route to go and i can do this without taking my wife with me, ( She has valvular heart problems and the stress really effects her condition. )

On a personal note, just in case it is needed.

My daughter is from my first wife and i was granted official custody when we divorced, it is in the separation agreement written up by the Amphur.

I will be going to N.Khai immigration and wonder if anyone has been succesful in applying for this particular type of visa there.

I am of course over fifty.

This is one of the reasons i ask about time limits because if this is not successful i will obviously have to take the other route for a marriage visa.

Thank you in advance for your much appreciated advice.

The earliest they will accept isone month before expiry date.

The latest is on the last day of validity later is too late

Late is not an option - late and you start from square one. But that might not be that hard if you obtain a non immigrant visa on your trip.

You can apply early if you have travel scheduled but believe the interim stamps will be 30 days so if you are not able to return prior to that date you again lose.

There is no support child option but you mention being over age 50 so that may be the option to live with child - but have not heard of any successful application in Nong Khai.

If you can somehow meet the retirement 800k/65k/combination method that would help with not having to have the wife attend each time - but the first time you make change they do want to see wife to have her sign that she knows you have changed.

Thanks for your usual speedy reply Lopburi and also to Krub for responding.

I thought going late would not be possible but asked just in case you knew of a way to get round it.

I reckon i,ll have to take the wife this time as i won,t have enough time to up my currrent acc. to 800K in time to qualify for the 3 month requirement.

It,s not much more than is sitting in the bank now so it won,t take much extra to top it up.

As my wifes health is the main consideration i,ll get it done in good time for next year.

Let us hope they don,t increase the fees again before then :o

Incidently if i was delayed in the U.K. for any reason, would i loose my grandfathered conditions re the rates i,m on presently in monetary terms ect.

E.G. 400K in my acc. as against the 800K plus whatever the pension requirements are per month ? for new applicants ?

I always worry when i,m back home that something could create a delay in getting back before the visa runs out.

Getting a new non O visa is not a problem from Birmingham, it,s if i loose consideration of the last 5 yearly " O " visas and have to start from square one deposit wise also.

I,d be tempted to make a flying visit, just to renew if that,s the case.

Much appreciation for your assistance on all our behalfs, Lopburi, and all visa section mods.
