People also seemed very scared of the lese-majeste and defamation laws - wonder why that is? Oh, yea. It's because these are some of the very few laws that are actually enforced.

I thought that too until i heard the wife and her friends discussing the now defunct political nomination. No punches pulled there!!

I wait for the day when him, or someone in the law establishment comes out and says they are going to target the number 1 issue in Thailand, the roads.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Thai roads.

I reported a guy for defamation for emailing one of my Thai companies (of which I am also a director) telling lies about me. He is another Westerner that often travels to Thailand and has a rival business in UK. He often works in Thailand illegally.

He stupidly wrote an email and sent it to several Thais in the company that opened it and read it.

Bang to rights.

Those Thais that he sent the email to have connections high up the tree.

The cops were only too happy to accept the case and now when they learn of his location it will be a big payday for them of which they admitted would be used to squeeze him.

I think the reason these defamation laws are enforced are because they are a big earner.

While I was in the Police Station a Thai couple were also in there reporting someone for exactly the same offence.

I make no comment on the LM laws here.

Pay them 1000 baht and you won't have a problem....so a friend tells me!

And why are your staff Sir, going to allow them back across the border ?
