Strong Thai baht hurting low income farangs

Featured Replies

Bloomberg reports that Thai baht is very strong in 2019 after a great run in 2018. Tourism is also on the rise again after a dip in 2018. These developments are great for the Thai economy, but for marginal farangs the strong Thai baht will create more financial headaches.

So, so happy I am moving to Portugal next month.... Selling ovv our belongings is actualy making me a provit at the moment!!

For some it is like the perfect storm. With their own currencies weakening substantially against the US dollar while the baht is relatively stable. The Australian dollar and British pound are two examples.

Planning retirement reminds me of Thai builders whatever they say double it.

I wonder if the Thai economy will accelerate after the elections. The Thai baht will get even more stronger if that happens.

A strong economy does not necessarily translate to a stronger currency. In any event, I doubt very much the economy will accelerate after the elections.

I guess it depends on where your from and how long you've been here...

Crypto's yet to prove themselves.
