You dont need to show that the 800k comes from outside Thailand. Just having it in your account for the required time (2 months) before you apply is sufficient. The proof of money from overseas only applies to the 65k monthly income method.

Not completely correct. Go back and read my previous posts.

Proof the 800k baht came from abroad is needed to apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry at immigration.

  • I don't suggest the requirements, they are as written. Monthly income, Embassy letter or money in the bank !

Best to go to Immigration and ask, quite a few people would prefer to use an ATM. Very unlikely to be allowed, although no one has asked

  • Are you asking about proving your monthly income or the 800k baht deposited in the bank. Only the monthly income has to be shown as coming from abroad. For an extension of stay based upon retirem

Thanks for putting me straight UJ.

You only need proof the funds came from abroad for step 1 if you apply at a immigration office for the non immigrant visa.

Not needed for step 2 when you apply for the one year extension at immigration.

Thank you Ubon Joe,

That's clear now. From your previous posts it seems that you only need to prove funds are from abroad for the 1st part 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry IF it is applied for in Thailand. If applied for in my home country (Singapore) then it is not required.

Many thanks
