Hey guys i'm going to try and keep this short. me and my girlfriend want a business in thailand. we have a thai Citizen to co-start the business. My question becomes I understand the required capital only needs to be on paper. But if we decide to only get a business visa And not get work permits.  is Is there a minimum amount of money the business must Profit For us to Maintain visa status? And if we decide to get work permits, I'm aware we need 4 thai employees for every Work visa. What is the minimum amount our business would need to profit to keep things in good standing?

You will need to form a Thai company with mixed thai and foreigners shareholders, and that company pays yearly taxes according to profits, even pays taxes regardless of profit/losses the company incurs, and 4 employees for one work permit, and as what do you need to keep the venture viable it's all up to how the business is managed, overhead, income and lot's of luck, Thailand is not easy place to do business in and maid business has been done already to check your competitions...

It does not need any profit to maintain, you can run it at a loss if that had to be the case, as long as you have those 4 Thais to support your work permit

You should try to maintain at least 100,000 a month in turnover or you might find your visa will not be extended. I would expect some leeway would be given for first year to get up to speed.

To get an extension of your visa you need to have a work permit

OP you need to be very clear about whether you want a visa, which can only be obtained at a Thai consulate or a Thai Embassy in another country, or a 1 year extension of stay based on being employed by a Thai company.

If you want a visa, then the profitability of the sponsoring company isn't so much of an issue.

If you want an extension of stay based on working for a Thai company then you must have a work permit. Understand that this category of extension is one of the most onerous to obtain.

Again, the company does not need to make profit, but if it keeps making a loss then questions could well be asked.
