Thai authorities don’t know if Maya Bay will re-open to tourists

Featured Replies

hope they never open it.

just allow boats to get close like 100 meters and tourists take photos and that is it!

Leave it alone, there are precious little places left now.

  • Great news. Thailand tourisms biggest problem is just how overdone everything popular ends up. Zero regulation means unchecked amount of visitors destroy the area, leave rubbish and pollution behind j

  • Let them eat tourists.

First went in 1992 when we were almost the only people on Koh Phi Phi Leh.

Paradise lost.

I first visited in 1983 and vividly remember the glass clear water and the myriad of living corals.  I have been back several times but it was never the same as that first time.  On each return visit there were more and more tourists, until there was standing room only on the beach.  Paradise lost indeed. ????
