Thai embassy in KL overwhelmed with early voters

Over 4,000 Thai nationals working in Malaysia turned up at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur today to cast their ballots in early voting.

The long queue of waiting voters spilled out of the embassy compound.

One of the voters, Mr. Sunpet Boonraeng who works as a cook in KL, said he had waited for about six hours to cast the ballot, adding that he was afraid voters who live and work outside the Malaysian capital might not be able to wait that long. He said some of the elderly voters fainted in the queue because of the hot weather and rain.

High voter interest and/or high voter turnout are usually indicators that the current government is not popular and the citizens want change.

Let's hope that votes are counted properly and fairly...

Yeah, they'll have to count these votes early to rectify any discrepancies that Joe Public makes.

Making it as difficult as possible to vote (no surprise) and Thais that live and work overseas are probably not that sympathetic towards current occupying administration. Almost looks like a visa queue at Vientiane Thai Embassy.

Are there any MTGA caps available?

I assume the the Thai mail system isn't reliable enough for postal voting.

Was this one of the voting-stations recently checked by a Member of the Election-Commission ?

No it wasn't.

According to the "other" paper there were over 5,xxx Thais wanting to vote, however there were ONLY 3 polling booths available.

The embassy will be open again today and it seems as though there may be 10 booths available.

And before was utterly perverted and stolen empty by the so-called leaders of people wearing not-yellow shirts.

was KL dry for this voting day?????

I can hear the shredders churning away from here. ????

The embassy grounds all look very British. Don't they?

It probably is, but harder to bulk change the papers

Not just KL.

Even over here as well. Although I am a tad suspicious. The embassy sent a stamped return envelope with the voting papers.

Instead of just dropping it off in the mail box, I went to the post office. Guess what??? Insufficient postage.

I guess a lot of the ballots will not count because they will be late or not recieved.

As stated by many early, it appears that the Thai's plan to oust the junta. But will the junta go? Will they just steal the election or will they pull out the guns? Let's hope it is option three, peacefully turn over the reins of power to  fairly elected leadership.

Humans have already invented a way to be connected 24/7, the internet. Yet they can't seem to be able to grasp a very simple system of direct democracy where you could vote on anything, real time, all the time. Still stuck in this <deleted> with representational "democracy" and ancient ballots and whatnot. All hope is lost.

Not surprised. Early voters especially overseas are likely working age, i.e. younger crowd. The old farts will vote for the junta on election day. They'll still lose, of course, so another coup is imminent.

Bunch of typos

All the early voters votes will go to junta parties. End of story.
