Immigration chief Lt-Gen Surachate Hakparn announced the arrest of four South Koreans who were running an online betting business from a South Pattaya condominium.

The suspects - aged from 35 to 41 - were found in possession of electronic evidence including two devices to change OTPs (one time passwords).

They were offering gambling opportunities on football, lotteries and casino games to people in their home country.

Surachate - known by his moniker of Big Joke - said that the suspects were paid 80,000 baht each but had only been in operation for two weeks. So far they had turned over 2,500,000 baht.

They were all on tourist visas.

Surachate said that the Thai police will also prosecute the owner of the condo and room manager for failing to report the whereabouts of foreigners staying in Thailand.

Coincidently Pattaya police station got a new chief????

And get ready for this new changes , not only all officers will be changing uniform and haircuts but one will no longer be able to get police bail.

meaning any offence no matter how minor , gets you locked up in the cells  and send to court.

New measures taken to stop corruption and prevent back handers

New bikes, new haircuts, new fitness programme; all have been tried before.

Better pay and conditions linked to promotion based on merit rather than the ability to pay should be the new norms.

Believe it or not but not all promotions are paid for . Only ones that give you absolute power????

What more would you like to find out ? New chiefs date of birth so you can buy him a gift?

the only change concerning you and me and everyone else is that new regulation not to grant police bail to anyone for any offence , no matter how small or big.

now you will not be able to bribe any officer to grant you bail , but you will be able to bribe inspector of your case to send you to court quickly or wait in the cells ????

It's of no concern to me; and most posters here; who are law abiding citizens and are not going to be spending time at the cop shop, inside or outside of a cell.
