Recommend pre-natal doctor in Pattaya area.

Hello,

Looking for a recommendation for foreigner (English speaking) covering from first trimester up until and including delivery.

I know there are lots of hospitals and packages, but a good value high quality service is sought

Do you have insurance that will cover any complications in the newborn? As this is where it can get very, very expensive (over 1 million baht) and it is best not to plan to deliver in a hospital where you would nto be bale to afford care if something went wrong - it can be difficult if not impossible to arrange transfer elsewhere at that point. I have several times seen people come to grief because they had delivery in a private hospital, attracted by a delivery package fee they could afford, only to find themselves trapped with huge bills they could nto pay because there were complications.

Other considerations:

1. Is there a strong preference regarding vaginal delivery vs elective C-section? The latter is the norm in private Thai hospitals so if not wanted need to select doctor carefully.

2. Likewise any preferences re things like father in the delivery room, rooming-in afterwards etc? These too would need special doctor selection as not the norm ib Thailand.

3. Does the mother speak Thai well? If not then it will be important to be in a hospital where nurses speak English. It can be terrifying to be in labor and unable to communicate with the nurses. Doctor of course would speak English but doctor is nto there continuously until it is time to actually deliver.

The answers to these things will help me advise you. Meanwhile see also these threads
