Businesses and homes in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang area were without electricity for part of Friday morning after a 10-wheel truck got tangled in power lines on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 129 shortly after 9am.

Metropolitan Electricity Authority officials had the downed lines reconnected within three or four hours and replaced a utility pole that was knocked over without disrupting traffic.

Police questioned witnesses and the truck driver, whose name has not been released.

The driver will be held responsible for the property damage.

Why? Was he driving a truck with an illegally high cargo? Looks more likely that the power lines were too low.

Exactly what I was thinking, from the photo the truck looks to have a normal load height, but the mass of cables which look to be quite a few & very heavy possibly sagging in the middle thus dropping below a safe height ?
