So you're saying that Trump and the Republicans' campaign against Socialism is a loser?

No, what I'm saying is that Bernie would have won, and Trump would not be president.

By putting the worst possible candidate ( IMO ) up for the election, they pretty much guaranteed her opponent would win.

So here we are, with the "resistance" trying everything to attack the POTUS, even down to security clearances.

I guess when everything they try fails, they have to go with anything that presents itself, no matter how pointless.

If people want to pay to go to Mar-a-Lago that is their business, not anyone elses. No one is forcing them to go there.

In the world of the anti Trumpers, he and his family just have to be doing something wrong, without any evidence.

Boring after 2 years of it, with nothing to show.

You don't see any ethical problems with Trump spending as much time at Mar-a-Lago as possible, at tremendous expense to the taxpayers, so that people can spend $200,000 to meet him?  $200.000 that goes directly to the Trump organization

That makes the ethical standards of Trumpies very clear.

question: how much cheaper is it for the taxpayers when Trump stays elsewhere? what expenses are covered by the taxpayer?

Estimates vary, but a cost of $3.6 million per visit seems credible. https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2017/apr/18/center-american-progress-action-fund/how-much-do-donald-trumps-trips-mar-lago-cost/

This is the cost over and above the cost of staying at the White House.  Visiting a secure compound like Camp David or a private residence that is closed to the public would be cheaper than Mar-a-Lago, but how much cheaper varies by location.

However my point was the blatant ethical violation of doubling the entry fee to Mar-a-Lago shortly after being elected, announcing it would be the "winter White House", then spending as much time as possible once there.  Even if this were done at no cost to taxpayers it's a blatant use of the Presidency for personal enrichment, and a security risk, but Trumpies refuse to see it.

It's not just a question of the cost of the accommodations. It's also the frequency of the trips. And there is the fact the Trump's trips to his properties actually enrich him at taxpayers' expense since the government pays for the lodging of the Secret Service there. So far Trump has spent 238 days at his various properties.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/how-much-time-trump-spending-trump-properties-n753366

In 8 years Obama took a total of 328 vacation days.

By the way, before he was elected Trump criticized Obama for taking so many vacations. And he promised not to go golfing.

Just another campaign lie, like promising to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it, and to make America great again.
