Swiss/Thai kids who fell from apartment: Two now run away from home claiming abuse from Thai mother

Two of the children who fell from a platform at a Bangkapi block of flats almost a year ago have run away from home claiming their Thai mother beat them up. 

 

One of the siblings, a young boy, died in the fall that happened when their mother was out at work at night. 

 

After extensive stays in hospital the other children returned to be in the care of their mother Ratikan, 37. Their Swiss father Marcel Borel had been involved in a bitter custody battle with his ex wife. 

 

He claimed negligence on her part and that of her relatives. 

 

Now Thai media has reported that two of the children aged 12 and 11 have run away from home wanting to be with their father. 

 

They claimed that despite not having fully recovered from their injuries their mother kicked and beat them. 

 

The children are now in care as an investigation takes place. Psychologists are talking to the children. 

 

Pol Col Jirakrit Jarunphat of the welfare arm of the metropolitan police said there were no injuries consistent with assault on the children. 

 

Ratikan has denied assaulting her kids though she has admitted to high stress levels since the accident in May last year. 

 

The children were home alone on the fourth floor of a block in Ramkhamhaeng Soi 34 after their grandparents put them to bed and went to another room on the ground floor. 

 

They all fell from a platform used for draining plates in the middle of the night. Alex Borel, 5, died. 

 

The other children aged 11,10 and 7 at the time survived despite serious injuries.

I'm surprised Mom is fighting to keep them.

 

Many Thai women (and men) will abandon their kids as fast as dropping a pair of dirty underwear

 

Hopefully the guy gets custody, and can give them a decent, what's left of it, childhood

Sounds like a case of the mum using the kids to blackmail or maybe just hurt her ex.

According to the story a year ago, mum is a drug user. Without the kids, she won't get the money. Without the money, she can't buy the drugs.

and of course the usual shit. the kids given to mum unitl she proves inadequate despite the children wanting to be with dad. sexist bullshit. thank goodness my useless ex wife doesnt even contend my kids.

They should have been in their father's custody after that accidend (caused by neglect of the mother and her family) - and take the younger one awqay from her, too.

 

I wonder what would have happened if the mother was farang and the father Thai?

Isn't the answer is clear?

Nearly impossible in Thailand, cause the father is farang.

again partial actions from thai authorities.

i remember this case and thai lady clearly neglected the kids and one of them dies due to a fall and rest injured.

and yet. thai authorities gave the custody to the thai lady neglecting her kids!

and now two kids runaway and thai authorities do nothing and most probably let them return back to their mother - if we can call her a 'mother' of course.

what type of justice is this??

The article is not correct as both the 5 yr old (boy) and the 7 yr old (girl) died. The 5yr old immediately during the incident and the 7 yr old later during coma in the hospital ...

Yes, the mother received about 2m/thb from donations after the incident and she is asked even today what she spent the money on in addition she get child support from their father - so yes it seems to be economical reasons behind ...

The true nature of (many) women: try to acquire money from a man by hook or by crook.

 

Ruthless, what she is doing to those kids. It is up there with rape and murder. Hard to do worse in your life.

I am sure that she didn't get what she demanded from the guy and later she abuse those innocent kids. I have seen many Thai ladies threatening their western husband or boyfriend and use this strategy to get money and spending on stupid lazy Thai men.
