PHUKET:-- Phuket Governor Phakkaphong Tavipatana has called on the heads of the main government offices and major businesses on the island to make safety the top priority during the upcoming Songkran festivities, to be celebrated nationwide April 11-17.

The week of festivities, from April 11-17, has also been designated as the Seven Days of Danger period for this year’s Songkran.

The week-long period is among the most dangerous times of the year for Thailand, with hundreds of people dying in road accidents alone during the seven days of holidays.

Classic pineapple shirt....! I've been looking for one just like that!

But hang on....this is the governor speaking...it's his job to make the festival safe!

Well now, order the traffic police to do what they are supposed to do, uphold the traffic laws!

That will probably help to lower the death toll considerably.

You mean, "make Thailand safe".... by following the law and for the Police to enforce it 365 days in the year!

safe again???....it has never been safe
