And don't forget the ban on the Foam machine parties.

Understand the Computer crimes act but looks like Thai law what ever

some Chief says if it is.

OK to play water with ice, assaulting those who don't want it,

marauding from back of pick-up beds (otherwise illegal), but add a harmless

dish soap and a blower your are committing some grave offense.

They can't see what is happening underneath all that foam and left to their imaginations it can only be carnal free-for-all!

At least that is what they would be doing, given the chance...

Noble aspirations, but just one problem....how does the achievement of any part of that coincide with the interests of those  who might be able to implement them?

Hope that’s cleared it up for you?

It never does. There are posts like that every day, always. ...The just one problem is avoiding bothering to reply to them.

Up until the point that it impinges upon your lifestyle.then a different focus emerges. Say they decided to eject all expats and confiscate their assets. You’d just shrug your shoulders and repeat ' ,their country their rules' I suppose? [...]

Whatever. The main concern would be meeting the deadline, I suppose.

And by the way are the ones imposing those rules really representing those whose country it really is?

Beside the point. They are the ones with the power to make the rules and so on.

There are already 2 laws in Thailand which affect my lifestyle. ...My choice, evaluate and decide where to stay.

Are the foreign women paying any attention to this?  Expect more half naked drunk women getting themselves into trouble during this holiday. Would you do this in your own country. Stupid is as stupid does.

The moment when you go out in the clothes you are wearing on the profile pic, your husband post it on Facebook and goes to jail for 5 years, because everybody can see your nipples through the shirt. Or you are posting a pic from the street at Songkran where a man without a shirt is to see and you go to prison for 5 years. The guy only has to pay 500 Baht.

"Would you do this in your own country"

Probably yes - if you are from "The West", (and not of a certain religious persuasion that can't even show their faces) but Middle East - definitely not! Even "skinny dipping" is acceptable in the right environment!

P.S Have you seen  the antics that the girls get up to in New Orleans during Mardi Gras in order to get a few tacky beads?

Social media posts inviting others to drink alcohol was also subject to a maximum one-year jail term and a maximum Bt500,000 fine, as per the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, he noted.

So if I post to my friends on facebook,"anyone fancy a pint tonight" I can go to jail for a year.

What can you say!!!!! total overkill and stupidity.

Well in that case if we are not talking adverts here, but rather of "real" people posting pics of their  boobs, that can be worse and set fire even more rapidly. Obviously you do not agree with my initial post but thanks for your very diplomatic way in saying that????. happy Songkran.

Happy Songkran????

This is obviously being pushed forward but TAT (Tourist Authority of Thailand). They want folks to experience the nudity and drinking first hand by coming to Thailand and not vicariously with the internet at home.

Is that your mantra for Bahrain also and it’s stoning to death of gays rules? See how quickly your argument unwinds?

It is not an argument. It is a catchy slogan which "seems" to resonate with ominous import, but is in fact is empty of meaning. I guess if you were silly enough to attempt mind reading (Who moi?), the direct English translation seems to be that one should never discuss, compare, analyze, speculate abut and--gawf forbid--criticize rules of a country that one is not a citizen of.

If the OP is serious in defense of "Their country, their rules" at least he states it in a more honest way.

A thousand people die on the roads during Songkran and they're worried about a few boobies and beer on facebook over 4 days...hmmm.

The inmates seem to be running the asylum.

Another Somchai making promises no one can keep.

If only they had any concept of how ignorant and incompetent they look to the world. While they walk around thinking they are superior, they are literally walking clowns.

You’ve simply heard that phrase and repeated it ,clearly not understanding its meaning.

Yes you are right, my ignorance of even the most minimal of thought processes characteristic of an advanced species of homined is astonishing. Thank you for giving me the moral courage to admit that, I stand in awe before your sublime Greatness.
