A question on Visa for person below 50

Featured Replies

Hello

Question on behalf of a friend of mine

He works 28/28 and returns to Thailand for his time off.

He is concerned that he will exceed the allowed number of tourist visas in a year.

Is there a one year ( re-new able if possible) visa for him with multiple entry.

I have tried to do some research myself but can only find the OA visa which is only for people above 50

Thanks in advance

There is no written limit for tourist visa or visa exempt (by air) entries.

Unless there is married to or the parent of Thai there is no multiple entry non immigrant visa he can get.

He could get a multiple entry tourist visa that allows unlimited entries for 6 months from the date of issue.

If he goes home for a month I reckon his best bet would be the O-A. He could use that for two years with minimum fuss.

Show required finances at home and it shouldn't be a problem.

Topic subject says he's below 50 so no O-A available ????

Buy a pair and read where I admitted I made a mistake.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I'm fine, I read your excuses very well.
Bah! this should not be happy with you every day

There is no visa other than the Thailand Elite Privilege Entry visa that starts at 500K baht for a 5 year visa.

If he’s out of the country for a month between visits there’s a good chance he’ll get away with tourist entries for some time. Should he ever be denied entry he’d be sent back to where he flew from, but it won’t affect getting visas in the future.

Immigration are mainly trying to stop people living permanently in the country as a tourist. Frequent, short, visits aren’t usually a problem.

There is no set limit by air, but there is a 180 day ‘unofficial’ limit that IO’s sometimes quote. The system alerts the IO after 6 entries, but even then it’s up to the IO whether of not to let the person in.

I've been coming and going on average 8 to 10 times a year for 15 years using nothing other than visa exemption - no issues, ever.

I would guess on very short stays, yes?  The OP will be staying a month each time.

If flying into the bad-entry point airports (both in Bangkok), I would recommend the METV, to avoid potential issues.  With 28/28 you should not have a problem with the METV.  Also have proof of your job in your carry-on luggage to show, if asked, "Why you come so much."
