They are made in Myanmar, to fund their low level civil war.

It reminds me of the CIA activities to finance a revolution in Guatemala. I am sure CIA and Mossad would not be involved in any illegal activities in those countries. If you want to destroy an entire generation, just hook them up drugs, booze and sex.

So many questions....

Why raid the club? What was so pressing that this needed to be done

Who cares if the people are doing drugs, so long as they don't hurt others

How and why would the club owner be responsible for people at the club who have drugs in their system

Something else is going on here. We all know their are plenty of clubs in BKK whose patrons act in all sorts of way, selling ones body is illegal, but plenty of people do it anyway and so much more happen, there was some vendetta at play here, something more that the club owner and other people at the top know that we don't know

If you read well, there where gambling machines in the building and computers for taking bets.  so i geuss there wasn't enough thea money paid . For sure that was the main reason for the raid covering it up with a drug bust .

When will people learn the crack down, head cracking, imprisoning approach to the drug war accomplishes less than nothing. There are drugs in prison, nothing else to do and no way to better ones self. People get out of prison more damaged, more prone to drug use, and more dangerous. Put some little kids mother in prison and boom you've got a new drug using criminal on your hands. It's time for a different approach here and everywhere.

Ok, so I've been to this club that was raided. Several times. It's been open for many years. Even seen those "horse racing" electronic gambling machines that look like slot machines made about 40 or 50 years ago.

No matter what your opinion of alcohol or after hours regulations (or even drug use), this club presents a danger to the public. To operate after hours, they need to have the front of the building closed to avoid attention. There are several levels and narrow entrance/exit stairways. If ever there was a fire, it would cause many deaths, as most would not be able to get out.

I don't know how long you've been in Thailand, but around 10 years ago, there was a fire at Santika club that killed 66 people. Santika had much better exits than this one and they were not an "after hours" club with their front doors closed either.

Fire risk is never spoken of in Thailand. But the truth is many of these clubs, hotels and apartments in Thailand are major fire death traps.

Maybe that is the whole idea about the war on drugs. The Government created the problem, and the government will offer the solution, not in the best interests of its people.

Viroj said Rewat Chaiyaphum, 43, deputy manager of the pub, was arrested on a charge of violating closing hour and allowing drugs to be abused inside the place.

Viroj said the pub is now facing a five-year closure for violating closing hours and allowing drug use.

The pub was formerly known as the Poseidon Pub and was closed three years ago on similar charges
