PHNOM PENH, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's famed Angkor Archeological Park attracted 973,305 foreign tourists in the first four months of 2019, down 7.3 percent compared to the same period last year, a press release said on Wednesday.

The ancient site earned a gross revenue of 44 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales during the January-April period this year, down 8.5 percent over the same period last year, the state-run Angkor Enterprise's release said.

Most visitors to the site are Chinese, South Koreans, and Americans.

The entrance fee to the park is 37 U.S. dollars for a one-day visit, 62 U.S. dollars for a three-day pass, and 72 U.S. dollars for a week-long pass.

Located in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province, the Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1992, is the kingdom's most popular tourist destination.
