A python has swallowed a baby goat in Satun in southern Thailand.

Song Tai Satun Newspapers reports that a staff member at the Tanyongpoe Tambol Administrative Organisation in Satun was notified of the incident yesterday.

Rescue workers arrived at a rubber plantation to find the three metre python, with a noticeable bulge along its long body, inside a goat house.

Why did they induce the python to regurgitate the kid?  Doesn't make sense to me.

Pythons regurgitate naturally, if they feel threatened whilst digesting their meal...

I had one that ate 3 bantams and a guinea fowl once. Caught it and transported about 15km to a national park.

When we opened the crate, it had regurgitated all 4 birds and made a slippery get away. It would have come back later to reclaim it's meal.

Fair enough but the article states they tried to make the python regurgitate the kid.  Again, might be lost in translation.  Always hard to tell with these articles.

Long time ago when working for the NHS, there was a Consultant who kept goats.

One day when talking with his colleagues, he said:

"I slaughtered one of the kids today" :w00t:

True story.

Well, as long as the goat doesn't swallow my python..

And please don't point out that I missed the "kid" opportunity.

Q: What do you call a snake who works for the government?

A: A civil serpent!

And of course, I really am not referring to 'our' smashing government here. Because they are all lovely.

:whistling:

"What's up?  Python get your goat?"  :whistling:

kids: papa, what we eat today, goat meat?

papa: nope, today we have python.
