Here's some recent data about muslims and their views. So "moderate"... and this "moderate" BS is well sold by media. 1. Policy Exchange / JL Partners poll (UK, April 2026) Survey of 1,006 British Muslims in areas with significant Muslim populations. - 52% support criminalising public depictions of Muhammad. - 63% support criminalising the burning of holy books (including the Quran). - 24% say violence can be a legitimate response to those acts. This is one of the more recent large UK samples and shows clear majorities or large minorities holding traditionalist views on sacred texts and blasphemy. 2. German study (Kriminologisches Forschungsinstitut Niedersachsen, 2026 reporting) Survey of ~300 Muslim teenagers (average age 15). - Nearly 68% said the rules of the Quran are more important to them than German law. - Significant minorities expressed understanding for violence against those who insult Allah or Muhammad, and openness to an Islamic state model. 3. Pew Research Center data (ongoing / recent waves) Pew’s long-running global surveys of Muslims remain the most cited large-scale source. In many Muslim-majority countries, large majorities still favour making sharia official law and view the Quran as the direct word of God that should shape society and law. Support is lower in more secularised places (e.g. Turkey, parts of Central Asia/Europe) but remains substantial overall.
