Because it is not the same companies, those drugs are made in illegal labs in China wheras pseudoeohedrine is made in legitimate labs with full governmental control.

Those labs didn't become illegal until just recently and that was  after operating for over 15 yrs flooding North America with poison.  Full government control?  and no wink wink with 100's of millions floating by ? ok amigo whatever you say just don't hurt your ears when you pull your head back out..

No, they were always underground labs, they just hadn't made all those drugs illegal yet, there are thousands of analogues so although not government authorised phamaceutical manufacturers, they were also not illegal as long as not selling to the Chinese market, it was a loophole  Which is of course completely and utterly different to the legitimate manufacture and export of pseudoephedrine based on a state authorised LONO.  Or did Canada approve the import of fentanyl? I always wonder what happens to drugs seized. Are they being re-distributed (as some may, not unreasonably, suspect) or do they get destroyed (but never seen any evidence of this)?

Any country that would put antifreeze in colgate tooth paste and sell it to dollar stores in america , you have to wonder. It can never be completely stopped but with very stiff penalties it can certainly be greatly reduced.
