Illegal foreign workers: Thais urged to call the "Rat Line" on 1506

why are they only concerned with illegal workers, why not extend the scheme to any illegal activity? such as the crimestoppers line in the uk where you can give information anonymously to help police solve/prevent crime. you can also claim rewards for some successful outcomes.

such an initiative here would be excellent, given the amount of illegal activity i see every time i leave my home; illegal street vendors, road users breaking the law, vendors selling fake goods, etc. i'd make a fortune!

Yes your idea is a very well thought out idea. Don't forget to add the Boys In Brown, all government officials, Immigration officers and of course the best of the bunch all the politicians to the list of those who commit illegal activities

Well that ought to set off every jealous Somchai in the country. Next time I give my son a lift somewhere i can expect to be nicked for taking money away from a motorbike taxi.

  • Does this also apply to unscrupulous Thai companies who employ cheap foreign labour by the waggonload for a month & who often seem to get caught just before payday?

She said that people taking jobs reserved for Thais could be fined 5,000 to 50,000 baht.    The poor souls dont have 500 baht thats why they are working on the streets

Me: "No."

Thais in my village after learning that I'm a retired English teacher: "Ohhh you kee nieow!"

Me: "No.  Talk to your government.  That's why I won't 'volunteer' to do anything in Thailand.  Now.  Goodbye."

So the term foreigners is too broad. What about using the word ASIANS. I mean seriously. Look at the stats..

Not only Asians. What about the Western personal fitness trainers who have their clients in gyms at condo/apt. buildings? No, they don't coach their friends for free. It is paid sessions.

The Thai employer is the one that should be in trouble- not the poor employer trying to earn a wage.

I think that even foreigners are here legally should report all the illegal people they know, I'm ready to do it!

The Chinese even used to dob in their own parents - you'll be a great asset in Thailand 4.0. Though you might be missing out on a career opportunity as a traffic warden back home.

Isn’t that why most Thai citizens aren’t able to obtain visas to visit developed countries-they tend to hide out and work illegally?

I'm wondering why the dildo and child porn sellers can openly continue to do their dirty jobs, while they arrest some poor Laotians, or Burmese guys doing some crappy jobs for the Thai elite.

What happened to The Land of Smiles?

Is it possible that Mr. Longnose Pinochio has something to do with it?

My wife and I  built a 38 home village not far from Rayong and the crews who worked there had quite a few foreigners working with them.Every month the police would come around and check , after a talk with the leaders of the crews the police walked away smiling . This idea will not work .It is the same as Australia where you can dob in anybody , and that works as a good majority of  Aussies love to dob people in

What about their employers?
