He wasn’t wrong ... many Thais don’t help at accidents and drive away if they are involved in one.

Until they pass "Good Samaritan Laws" for those who attempt to help at the scene of an accident, and until they pass "Hit and Run Laws" which have teeth, then this will continue to happen.

However, the door was opened when the vehicle owner managed to get the manufacturer to release the lock via remote control from afar.

Didn’t know that was possible - technology can be a double edged sword. First it wrongly locks the poor kid in, then miraculously releases it from afar.

blamed as the mother claims they have caused scratches and damage to her car.

Materialistic not maternalistic.  Kids are often a nuisance to their mothers as indicated by the number of them foisted off on their grandparents or other relatives to 'raise'.

This woman is not fit to be a mother, people trying to help her take care of her baby, and all she is concerned about is a few scratches on her car, pathetic.

As I said in another post recently, there is no accounting for stupidity and no answer to someone being as dumb as a brick.

Locals who tried to help a one year old baby who has was locked inside an SUV are being blamed as the mother claims they have caused scratches and damage to her car.

At least the nutter wasn't able to drive over them in a fit of Thainess.
