BANGKOK, 16 May 2019 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has acknowledged the State Railway of Thailand’s plans to hire an additional 1,900 employees for its dual-track rail project, and to allocate some 3.4 billion baht in registered capital for the setting up of an affiliated firm with access to a revolving fund for the Red Line rail project.

The PM chaired a meeting of the State Enterprise Policy Committee at Government House on Wednesday to discuss the SRT plan to hire an additional 1,900 workers this year to work on the construction of the dual-track rail project, and a 3.4 billion baht affiliated firm to run the Red Line rail project.

The Prime Minister also visited Khlong Toey communities to see the quality of life of the residents, and an activity center for youths, working people and the elderly in the Khlong Toey area. He also visited the 41st Public Health Service Center in Khlong Toey area where medical services and elementary health care are provided.

Prayut is not a Premier.

Can someone explain to me who the head of government is as it has kept me awake at night for years: it is often referred to as both Premier and Prime Minister but where I come from premier is at state/province level and prime minster at federal level.
