Police everywhere and the road is blocked off. No further info at this time. So what? Nothing like a bit of prejudicial retribution. So the lady shot some ###### that was robbing her......So would I given the chance. I remember a few years ago when the police in Phnom Phen blew a gold shop thief away with an RPG. They didn't find the stolen gold or much of the thief as well.

Well in this Gold robbing case . i guess the robber got his well needed attention . and the shop lady . whom see metal in gold color more importance then her life . had her share of what this crazy world got to offer . if only the world is fair and kind - then again . there are alot of sucker just out there waiting to be helped . what a world we have . enjoy while your life last . trust me is shorter then we all think . kash
Gold shop thief killed by policeman in firefight Chiang Mai _ A lone robber who killed a gold shop owner's wife during a daylight heist was shot dead by police yesterday. Supat Luengphet-ngarm, 45, a native of San Kamphaeng district, opened fire at a traffic policeman who tried to arrest him shortly after the robbery. Armed with a fake gun, Supat, wearing a woollen hat, walked into the shop and forced shop owner Narin Leerattanaporn and his wife Wanda Saengta to hand over gold ornaments. Wanda pulled out a pistol, but the suspect managed to snatch it from her and fired shots at the couple. Wanda was seriously wounded and died later. The suspect then took over 30 baht's weight of gold. As he tried to flee, Pol Snr Sgt-Maj Pinit Sitthiwat, who was directing traffic in the area, rushed to the scene after being alerted to the crime. The officer asked the suspect to surrender but he refused and fired a shot at the policeman. They exchanged fire for a while before the suspect was shot dead. # BANGKOK POST
Ulysses G.
My guess is the the woman pulled the gun with no intention of firing it. She thought that the robber would just give up. If you have a gun, you better be sure that you are willing to use it - and right away.
Ta22
- Having a gun or a weapon . is not a scary thing , but the intention to kill is importance . If you are trying to protect someone or yourself , and you find it really needed . to draw a weapon . DO have the right mind to fire it ,not wave the weapon around . Offen life and death is between one that fire the weapon or one that just put it out to show there have the weapon . - You know how cow boy movie alway have cowboy saying something before there fire . that bullshit . in a real life and death - i will rather shot first talk later if i choose to draw on any kinda weapon . Sad to know such thing happen . but the last mercy you wanna give is one who try to rob you . Robber be warn . you can rob me but you might die trying . cos i don't have a a merciful heart . Ditto Ta22, I spent 20 odd years in a frontline law enforcement role in a police department and thankfully did not have to use lethal force BUT.... as you say, mindset is a big thing. And as s you said, shame the lady didnt't have the mindset to shoot first and talk later but I guess hindsight is always 20/20....... Terrible shame nevertheless.......... cmsally
Just to provide the top it all to a very weird week. It turns out the robber was the guy who came to fix my computer last month! I can't see the resemblance from the newspaper, but my husband was recommended him by a friend in Mae Jo who confirms, that was the guy. Apparently he had a computer shop near the Uni there. solent01
Unfortunately your right UG, but with out sounding stupid, I would rather the fact that not too many people have firearms. Things do have a habit of going wrong when they are concerned, but I'm getting off topic, it's still bloody tragic that this has happened, and in all place's Changers..... Ta22
is importance to have a kind heart , and nice to everyone around you , But draw your line . be nice to people who is nice to you , respect those that respect you . is not easy to react - so you must tell yourself what to do .. and something make the choice before thing happen . The fact that the guy came your house and fix your Com and people getting robbed , may show some link that . the robber may had enter some of the house to scout out the net worth before there came robbing you . I prefer CROSSBOW to GUN .. first it make less noise . and is BIg , whahhahahah some of my diamond dealer freiend keep a few compact crossbow .. under their table trust me .. you don't wanna mess with them . there are more then happy to shot that mini 4 inch dart right in your face anytime if you if even act funny . solent01
Ta22, I'm guessing your 100% correct, the guy was obviously up to no good, it's a shame a woman had to loose her life to stop him though.
