Best Advice for Sending Property to United States

Featured Replies

Looking for advice. After ten years in Thailand, I've decided to return home, at least for the time being.I'm giving most of my things away here, major things already promised or given in fact, and putting most clothes, etc in donation bin in my building. However, I plan to take some of my books, some of my DVDs gifts people have given me, some of my clothes (though I have lots at home so they can go to donation if need). The gifts will go into luggage, also hopefully my computer (stand alone 19.5 inch) but latter in carry on. I have printed out the customs form for repatriating items free of duty. My current thinking is to ship books, DVDs, maybe some clothes by surface mail since not in a hurry.

Anyway know this post is stream of thought, but wondering if folks have any advice on any possible cheaper alternatives for shipping? Also for the stand alone PC if I can't take in carry on (can give it to my friend if need be), are there any good inexpensive but secure ways to send? Also I have a crocodile head I bought at JJ Market, I'd like to take home, anyone know if this is allowed to bring into U.S.?

Anyway looking mostly for general advice, have a few more weeks before my flight.

Bump.
