I have a wooden bungalow being completed and the electrician tells me it is pre-wired with only 2 wires for the lights and sockets.

He is going to install a power box with breakers etc .... and it will be grounded as required, also he said he will ground the hot water system in the bathroom. I will ensure one socket get earthed / grounded for my computer also.

Is having two wires throughout the bungalow safe enough for lights, switches, sockets etc .....   ??

For Class-2 (double insulated) appliances, which in reality is most these days, 2-pin outlets are fine.

You are right to add a grounded outlet for the PC and add same for microwave, washer and other metal cased things (mostly kitchen based), you have already addressed the water heater.

Also ensure the breaker box has an RCD/RCBO (look for a "Test") button.

Moving to "Electrical".

To your comment about adding a grounded outlet.

I'm about to add a circuit run to the gf's kitchen.  There is currently one outlet.  So it's musical plugs and extension cords if you want to use more than 1 appliance.   The wiring in this house is scary.  The hot water heater switch is about 1' away from the shower head AND totally exposed wires.

I'm not even sure if the house is grounded or if the romex here has a ground wire.

This place needs a service panel with an RCD.  Home Pro this week to check things out.

I have a lot to check out before I dive into this project.
