Internet Service Providers In Jomthien

Featured Replies

Hi

I use 'True internet' in Jomthien, through the Condo phone. True internet say they have a firewall which makes it impossible for me to download music. I do manage to get Youtube videos at a very slow speed. There is a waiting period of at least 4 more months for me to get my own phone line in. Is there any way I can get now an internet service provider that will allow me to download music?

Downloading international multimedia content is going to be slow in Thailand no matter what ISP or connection technology you use.

Regarding the technology, I'm surprised you didn't get any responses - perhaps you will soon. I don't know much about them or gprs either, for that matter, but there are datacards you can get from the phone companies that go into a PCMCIA slot that have pretty good speeds. Simply using a gprs or gprs edge cellphone as a modem is another option.

Blocking of P2P ports etc., depends on the service package as well as the ISP. Just ask them flat out if they block them or the specific service you are interested in or not. Myself, I am relatively happy with Jasmine Compax service - they don't block anything. (http://www.ji-net.com)
