Does the daily limit apply to the time in Thailand, or the time in the USA as you withdrawal?

I have a C. Schwab debit card.

Thank you.

USA has no idea what time it is here I fear.  Have not used ATM for several decades but it did not appear to be based on Thailand time when I did.  Also remember many also have weekend limits which can affect how much can be taken out.

Have had insurance come back to say I filed claim before the date/time on bill this decade - and that is from the international claims people (not knowing Thailand is a half day ahead).  And an x-ray with dd/mm/yyyy caused great concern in years past.  And A4 paper was not acceptable to IRS until quite recently.  We have to be dragged into any change it seems.

Bank Withdrawal Limit ATM's

Charles Schwab $1,000 daily limit.

The withdrawal limit is a daily limit, so it resets at midnight.

Usually, this is at midnight of the time zone in which the ATM is located, but some banks use a single time zone for all ATM's nationwide.

You can ask your bank branch for their exact policies.

I expect a card's daily limit could be based on the time in a certain times zone, like say midnight U.S. Eastern Time (i.e., east coast time) for a US bank, OR 24 hours from your last transaction.

But I do know one person who has a US debit card with a $500 daily limit tied to U.S. eastern time which is either 12 or 13 hours different from the Thailand time zone depending on whether or not daylight savings times is in effect, but lets says it 12 hours for this example. A little before noon in Thailand he would withdraw his $500 daily limit...and then a few minutes after noon withdraw another $500.   Those two transaction occurring just before and after midnight U.S. eastern time.   So, his bank must have been operating on a daily clock tied to the U.S. eastern time zone.

I had to use several ATM cards when I first came to

Thailand to raise the deposit for a condo.  They were , at the time,  CitiBank (US), E*trade, and USAA and everyone of them changed over a midnight,  US Eastern Time

I could pull my maximum at 11:45 P.M (EST) and another maximum at 12:15 AM (EST) X 3 cards, thus raising about $1,500 every other day that I could exchange into Baht so was able to put down the condo deposit in a week

Thanks. And thanks to everyone for their replies.

I bet you are right, 12 eastern time. I will try the double withdrawal with that assumption and see if it works.

If you are using your US Bank account your daily withdrawal limit and everything else to do with your US Bank most certainly goes by the US time zone wherever your bank is. More than likely east coast time but depending on where your bank HQ Office is it could be central standard time or west coast time. I’ve never used Schwab before but I just know stuff like that for certain just from years of experience traveling the world. Your daily limit for your US Bank has nothing to do with Thailand’s time zone only the US clock. So your daily limit should reset around approximately 11AM or noontime each day in the local time.
