I've never heard of Greg Bender and know nothing about him except what you've told me. However, I will say, based on what you've told me, that anyone who genuinely believes you cannot live in Thailand for less than four thousand U.S. dollars a month is living in his own private twilight zone.

Saw him last night when I was on a Baht Bus, he did have a pair of cheap shorts on and nothing else...thought he looked a bit odd, but this is Pattaya

Sending mentally ill to other regions in the U.S. is called "Greyhound Therapy." Greyhound is a major interstate bus line. It's much cheaper to buy a one-way ticket to a warm-weather city, where they can live under a bridge, than to pay for housing and psychiatric therapy in a cold climate. The motive is to make them someone else's financial burden. Could Thailand be a new "Greyhound Therapy" destination?
