Taxi Report TH said that a taxi driving pervert had turned himself into police after sharing a selfie of him driving his cab with a female passenger in the back with her legs wide open.

The driver said it was not his intention to publicize the picture - it was just for his taxi mates on the "dark taxi web" to have a good ogle at.

The police did absolutely nothing and handed him over to the Department of Land Transport.

They fined him 1,000 baht and made him sit in front of a TV screen and watch three hours of "awareness training".

Earlier in the week Thai Rath produced a video that said the man has been taking pictures of people in the back of his cab for years.

He once posted a picture or video clip of a foreign couple snogging.

The driver always denies he is doing anything wrong.

And this is why these perverts, cheats and conmen will continue to commit those despicable offences simply because the deterrents IS NOT THERE, and 1,000 baht will not stop them unless a much more serious penalties will be implemented and brought to bare of this unruly cabbies...

I'm sure you understand Thai culture but being named and shamed is much more of a deterrent especially as he has lost a lot of face.

There need to be more deterrents for people constantly glued to their smart phones with no awareness or care of what is happening outside of their 6" screens.

The girl should behave better than that.

Tattoo, open the leg, foot on the chair.

Look like so dirty.

No doubt! It girls were flashing me and couples were shagging in the back, I might snap a photo, for posterity, too. ????

Just more grist for the mill, when it comes to the discussion of law and order here in the LOS. There is very little of that to be found. The toy police are not taken seriously by anyone. The selective enforcement of the law, the lack of traffic safety, the lack of public safety, the treatment of the office as a personal franchise, and the lack of dependability makes them the laughing stock of the world, and most certainly they are considered one of the world's least effective police forces.

So, when you see a fine of 1,000 baht, for an offense that might result in prison time, in many other nations, it is just confirmation of the above statements.

In terms of his denial, that is all about face. For some reason, many, many Thais have a bizarre, and nearly non existent relationship with truth. Denial is the first instinct. Truth? What on earth is that, and why on earth would I be truthful?

What do I think of face?

Face is no doubt, the greatest form of weakness, a human can engage in. Many will say it is societal, cultural, etc. No matter. It is the absolute and complete lack of the ability to introspect, and look within for the source of any problem, shortcoming, conflict, or issue. It is the polar opposite of spirituality, and therefore an absolute scourge on Buddha, and all of the precepts he taught. By practicing face, you are denying your spiritual heritage. You are refusing to man up. To take responsibility for your actions. If a man or a woman cannot, and will not take responsibility for their actions, the problems they create, the mistakes they make, and the issues they involve themselves in, what are they? Are they still an adult? Are they a complete individual, if they allow themselves to be limited by such infinitely small social convention?

Who cares what people think of you? For those of us with high self esteem, it just does not matter. Sure, close friends and family. But strangers on the street? Who gives a rat's butt about this? It means nothing what they think, nor what they say about you. They count for nothing. They are just people, and people you do not know, nor will ever see again. Face is rife with self doubt, and by subscribing to this weakness, and man or woman is made a far lesser person. For those of us with high self esteem, we know who we are. What others think, what society thinks, what a guy or gal thinks, means less than zero.

Real men or women, simply own a situation, and take responsibility for their errors or mistakes. Small men, social deviants, or emotional adolescents deflect, obfuscate, attempt to confuse, and do everything in their power to deny that they made a mistake, or that they are responsible in any way, or on any level. They make up narratives about fake news, or alternative facts. Anything to avoid looking within, for the source of the problem. Anything.

Looks like her phone cable is connected "down" there and she is just getting a cool breeze to keep the fanny charger cool.

With all those rear recording dash cams, they make the perv cabbies hobby easier.

Aye where are her manners and respect for herself?

P.S. I have seen far worse flashes, driving behind tuk tuks and songteow busses, Thai, Farang, adults and young school girls, no wonder some folks crash when their concentration on driving is diverted to watching live peep shows.

Forget about the 1.000 Baht fine, but watching three hours of "awareness training" on TV is really cruel.

They should have made him sit in a busy mall or train station for 3 hours wearing a pair of soiled panties on his head.

Yes, that is the same highly effective method they use to prepare Thai's for receiving a driving licence. Generally start video, order them to watch, lock the door and wait outside whilst they play on their phones.

I'm curious what video they used for training his awareness of girls upskirt photography. Perhaps he can improve his technique.
