I mentioned him because you mentioned him, the other group is the subject of this thread. Ja New, is not looking at people that left Thailand over a decade ago, he opposes the current PM of Thailand. Again, I cannot believe this is all that hard to understand.

Actually, I am not on anyone's side. I just call a spade a spade. I don't know Ja New personally, but I do know he protested several times against the current regime, and that is I believe his constitutional right. The attempts to somehow downplay his ordeal or the fact that he appears to have been attacked, I find to be extremely in bad taste, and I fail to see what Thaksin or whatever happend under Thaksin a decade or so ago, had to do with anything.

 

AS to who is right or wrong, the Junta is wrong, there is no doubt. If you want people to follow the law, the last thing you should do is to break it yourself. Deposing of a legitimate government is illegal. So any hope of the moral high ground are right out of the window.

 

Unfortunately they have done one better, they are without a doubt, leagues worse than the thing they illegally deposed off. 

 

I spare you the numerous examples, I just will say that to depose of a alleged criminal politician is being done by the courts, not by force.

People that think independently already know why the coup was staged, it wasn't because of Thaksin (or Yingluck) it was because they or anyone else for that matter, can control Thailand providing they know how to play the electorate. It is no surprise that the new bogeyman is Thanathorn, even though he apparently doesn't have the large history of wrongdoing as Thaksin alledgedly had. 

 

The whole constitution and the recent elections are all about maintaining continued control of Thailand by a select few people. 

 

I will go so far as to say that I doubt the powers that be are directly behind this attack on Ja New, however they are fully responsible for the climate in which this attack has been carried out.
