What a logistical nightmare this must have been for Secret Service.  Amazing job.  You ankle biters just got a taste of American Exceptionalism.  How did that taste?  Did it go down smoothly?

Make America Grate Again

Probably.  I'm sure if he walks into a Democratic precinct anywhere in America, they will help him cast a ballot with no ID.  All he needs is a smile and to look like liberal.

"The impact of the trade war [on China’s economy] is definitely negative, and the Chinese leadership at the Politburo meeting may discuss more fiscal spending and introduce more stimulus measures,” Iris Pang, Greater China economist for ING Wholesale Banking, said."

"It is a challenging situation for Beijing to manage and makes China vulnerable in the face of escalating trade hostilities from US President Donald Trump. China’s official manufacturing purchasing managers’ index fell to a five-month low of 51.2 in July"

Oh well, if Iris Pang says so........

By the way, anything 50+ in the MPMI is a great month. Or are you in the camp that thinks growth of 6.8% is a decline?

Kim Jong Un would be welcome as well.  Democrats love socialism, but I'm sure they communism a lot.

Which political scientists would they all be then? Trump haters perhaps.

IMO it's a toss up between Carter and Bush the younger. At least Trump hasn't had any fiascos in the Iranian desert, or declared war on a nation based on lies.

I met a political scientist at a party in the 80s once. She claimed nuclear war was imminent and we were all going to die. Complete loser.

Trump bases pretty much all his policies on lies but you don't seem to have a problem with that.

Right, because a huge concern of the average north korean citizen is to feel that they have come out ahead in the negotiations. Questions about having sufficient food, medical care, and some personal freedom are minor concerns of theirs compared to this.

Whilst I agree about their likely concerns over food and medical care, I don't think that personal freedom even registers. This is a society which has never had any such freedom, and has been totally sealed off for what, four generations now? Unlike for example the Soviet Union and their Eastern European satellite states, they have never been exposed to the concept. Those who do manage to escape do so for economic reasons (starvation).

I do however rather subscribe to the view that, in the event of North Korea invading the South, it will all grind to a halt when their recce elements reach the first of Seoul's mega shopping malls, with drive through McDonalds, KFC, and acres of retail space stuffed with electronic and consumer gizmos. That is when they will realise just how they have been lied to and shat on for those four generations.

And he never knew about payments to stormy.

jeez there are over 10,000 of them to chose from. Perhaps instead of asking for 3 the poster should have asked for 30,000 to at least make it intetesting.

No, that would be the people who have nothing of substance to post, so they post nonsense.  For example:

Yes, and it's neither of the two clowns on the left.

DT walked over the DMZ line like a boss....his predecessor cowers like a pussy behind a bulletproof shield. Hardly surprised he never even tried to bring NK to the table....just gave his MLK style speeches...the audacity of hope etc.

How about the audacity to make an effort.

Because Obama had sense enough not to give those thugs the recognition they craved in exchange for nothing. What does It cost the North Koreans to flatter Trump? Let him strut all he likes in the DMZ. He's still a dupe.

Right, like a boss....  Trump tentatively tweeted "Hey Kim, old buddy, c-c-c-can I come over and visit?"

It's now being reported by CNN that Trump is considering that the complete de-nuclearization by North Korea might not be required.

Will Trump and his fans insist he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for maintaining the status quo?

I just saw that Trump tweeted this before his Kim photo-op nonsense:

“President Obama wanted to meet, and Chairman Kim would not meet him. The Obama administration was begging for a meeting. They were begging for meetings constantly, and Chairman Kim would not meet with him.”

Another blatant, bold-faced Trump lie.  Of course the Trump fans won't object and may keep themselves sufficiently ignorant to believe it.

End to the Korean War and N. Korea following Vietnam's path of opening up to the rest of the world is hardly the "status quo". It would be a monumental victory, and worthy of a dozen Nobel Peace Prizes as it would easily be the biggest accomplishment in terms of World Peace in decades. Complete denuclearization was always nothing more than a negotiating position. Nobody views that as a realistic goal after the Gaddafi Precedent. But Trump is a master negotiator and knows that you always make a big ask at the opening and go proceed from there.

Sure. That's why he claimed North Korea agreed to complete denuclearization. Because it wasn't true.

It's called deal making, negotiation. Like bargaining for rolex's at Patpong market. seller asks 5000B you offer 1500 and you meet in the middle. That is what is happening. As opposed to the best example of non-negotiation which was Theresa May lumbering over to Europe and just surrendering without any attempt to negotiate a good deal. Trump is not Theresa May.

Sometimes you must think yourself, about the hows and whys of world events. Normally it does make sense, but stop following negotiating stances as a final stance. This should be common sense.
