School evacuated in Khon Kaen as structures ‘near collapse’

More than 100 teachers and students of Ban Lao Nadi School in Khon Kaen's Muang district were evacuated on Wednesday morning and school furniture and teaching materials removed from two 40-year-old buildings for fear they would collapse.

Man arrested over Facebook nude photos scam

A 22-year-old Thai man has been arrested for allegedly luring 22 young female Facebook users to click on a link he had created to steal their passwords, Provincial Police Region 5 Investigation Commander Pol Maj General Surapol Prembutr said on Tuesday.

PM vows to phase out four types of plastic products by 2022

Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said, on the eve of International Plastic Bag Free Day (July 3), that Thailand will phase out the use of four types of plastic products by 2022. The products are plastic bags which are less than 36 microns thick, Styrofoam food containers, plastic straws and single-use plastic cups.

Amnesty International urges police to catch Ja New’s attackers quickly

Ten sea turtles washed ashore on Thai beaches in the past 3 months

Ten rare sea turtles have been washed ashore on Thailand’s beaches in the past three months, some of them already dead. The survivors are being treated by veterinarians. The turtles’ problems were all caused by plastic waste dumped into the sea by humans.

Extensive flu outbreak in provinces

BANGKOK (NNT) - Due to the hot, humid and volatile weather since the beginning of June this year, there is a higher number of influenza patients in many provinces and the outbreak is likely to spread. In Chaiyaphum, there have been more than 2,200 influenza patients this year.

Electricity outage in Cape Panwa
