They don't need to do that, they will do that all by themselves, two months tops. Actually I am still not convinced they actually will start.

I agree it won't work, Prayuth has the constitutional court in his back pocket.

Even better if the coalition tears itself apart.

I agree that is very likely as it is full of  greedy politicians who will want to get all they can for their grouping.

So why do anything, then?

?

Let me explain it for you

Complaining about how many roles prayut holds won’t split the coalition.

Focus on the policies it tries to enact and use the fractious relationships within in it to split it up.

Okay, so focus on the assault of an activist and not the breach of the constitution? This is what will cause a split in the coalition?

Nope and I didn’t say it would. That was just one example of where to focus rather than on this non event of how many seats prayut holds.

As I say focus on the policies it tries to enact and and use the greed of its members to split them that way.

And again, they’re not in power and they have 44. You chose an example that would make no difference at all (so why focus on it?) while at the same time criticizing them for doing something that might make a difference.

It won’t make a difference and I pointed out a number of ways to act.

You appear to be focusing on the assault, not me.

There are more effective ways to split this coalition.

Once the prayut govt takes on the role of governing they can be employed.

I disagree.

Then you are at odds with sound politics, but you are allowed to be.

Guess we'll see how it plays out over the coming months.

To me, Prayuth's arrogance is his biggest weakness - attack it at every opportunity.

I’d say the best way to split this coalition is by going by the letter of the law. Kind of how they have so many MPs investigated for having media shares. It will come to nothing, but it’s a hurdle all the same.

I’d say the worst way to go about it is by criticizing their actions under article 44. They have 250 unelected senators. So what? The constitution says its okay.

They’ve also introduced a new stimulus plan which is awful. Criticize all you want. Prayut will just say it’s all good as long it’s by the rule book.

So I ask again, how is questioning the laws of the constitution any less meaningful than criticizing a government who has absolute power but asks for rule of law?

I’m not at odds with politics, I just don’t regard this as something that is important.

And once more I answer again

Because the coalition is more likely to split under scrutiny of policy than it is how many seats prayut holds.

And again, the opposition can chew gum and walk at the same time.

I’d say all those opposition politicians under investigation for media shares would disagree.

I’m not at odds with politics, I just don’t regard this as something that is important.

Yet the leadership committee of the opposition coalition consisting of career politicians with a much, much deeper understanding of everything about Thailand and its people than you, think it is something important and a tactic worth pursuing.

Hmm?

How much value should we pace in what you don't regard as important? Given that your previous genius proclamations on Thai politics included the terribly inaccurate judgement that there was no coup coming........ just before the coup came.

"Civil protest, civil disobedience, calls for a new leadership which followed the law are all irritating to PT but they are not a coup".

- Bluespunk 2013

What coup? People exercising their democratic right to protest is not a coup. The army at no time made any attempt to stage a coup. Suthep is a nutjob but no one attempted a coup.

Neither of those quotes said no coup was coming.

So either withdraw your false claim I said no coup was coming or find one where I did.

I have never hidden my contempt for pt, but neither did I support suthep.

Back up your allegations please.

Both of those quotes did not occur in a vacuum.

Your posts directly contradict the claims that a coup was under way.

The coup did not begin on May 22 2014, it began in October 2013.

The fact that you couldn't see a coup coming in during the 2013 period pretty much destroys any credibility you could possibly have when it comes to what is important and what is not in regards to Thai politics.

The fact that you think that focussing attention on Prayuth's complete disregard for the constitution is unimportant is, given your past record, just further evidence that it is important.

You’re backsliding.

What motion do you second? It could be the OP or it could be the post by Bluespunk (Oh for goodness sake...grow up). Without a quote, it is difficult to tell what motion you "second".

Without a quote it is usually the OP one refers which is in fact the case is in this instance.
