Really? Have you any idea just how long it takes to split a permanently coupled train-set even in the depot?

 

Also, you can't "just add cars", the current 4-car trains are the maximum length (two power cars and two trailers) that the power cars and the power supply system can support, so adding two more (to make 6 car trains) will not be a low-cost exercise ????

 

It would have been nice if the system was originally designed to allow two 3-car trainsets to be coupled to make a 6-car. But that would have needed a significant number of "spare" sets that would see little use in the early days, the money just wasn't there. We are now paying for the shortcomings in the original "to a price" design.

No, you couldn't "of" [sic], you were going in the opposite direction.

 

It's back to normal now, anyway, at least it was on Thursday afternoon.

Overnight track repair was the reason given (on Thai social media by BTS employees) for the in-bound and out-bound low speeds between Nana and Ploenchit last month. Seems like it takes ~ 7 - 10 days for the repairs. They have to move over the repair areas very slowly.

 

Assume it's the same for the On Nut/Phrakhanong segment(s)?
