BANGKOK, 08 July 2019 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan chaired a meeting of the Migrant Workers and Anti-Human Trafficking Policy Committee as work permits for over two million migrant workers are expiring.

The Ministry of Labor organized the meeting, chaired by the deputy premier, which involved related agencies, such as the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Intelligence Agency, the National Security Council, the Immigration Division, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries, among others.

The meeting discussed measures for the management of migrant workers in 2019 and 2020 as the work permits for over 2.05 million migrant workers are about to expire. The meeting also considered measures to help workplaces cope with the potential labor shortage.

Enough intrusion of the Military into Thai civilian matters.

Where's the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Labor?

Oh, yes, there is no new Cabinet as yet. So its all still the junta government.

What will they do in the near future when China have finished building new companies in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia etc etc... the max exodus of migrants going back home to work will bring Thailand to a standstill

I don't know any Thais that will work in the sun with a back-hoe for 12 hours being paid 300 baht !
