Thailand eVisa London

Recommended Posts

Having a fair few problems with this new evisa application form. First problem I encountered was that it gave you the option to apply for a multiple entry non imm O when you can't get one. The form would not reset itself either. Then eventually when it did, it would not let me upload my passport page and photo. Too large. So I've sorted that out. Trouble is, every time you re-start filling out the form it is counting the number of times you are trying. 10 strikes and you are out. This is the stage where I'm at. So I'll have to wait until after 2pm on Monday to phone the embassy to see what I can do. No use using the help e-mail box, this goes to Bangkok and no-one wants to answer you ( probably because they can't understand the question ). So annoying.......Does anyone know what I can do ?

No. You must now apply online at the Embassy. You can still apply in person at the Consulates like Hull.

Interestingly though, the paperwork you must supply to the consulate at Hull ( for a single entry non imm O ) is not the same as you supply the embassy, i.e. financial evidence. They also ask you for your exit details after 90 days and it does not show any option to go to the local imm office in Thailand for an extension

Frankly, any information on embassy/consulate websites about extensions of stay should be treated with suspicion anyway. Trust consulates only on the requirements for services they provide themselves. For information, extensions of stay in Thailand are independent of where you acquired the visa you used to enter Thailand.

Correct BritTim. I am also led to believe the consulates are in fact independent businesses too. What really gets my goat though is at the moment, someone like me who is married to a Thai national can only visit them and the family for 90 days per year. As a tourist knowing no-one in Thailand I can get a 6 month visa which, if you read the consulate website it explains in very good detail, how to extend to 9 months. Crazy or what ?
