Silentwalker
Can I extend a 30-day exemption by 7 days AFTER already extending it by 30? I know you can with a standard Tourist Visa, but does this also apply to exemptions? Thanks.
DrJack54
You apply, it will be rejected but you will be given 7 days to get out.

Then be given 7. Good for folk needing slightly longer. Some folk may suggest just paying 7 day overstay at airport. Problem is overstay stamp. Not good.

Isn't the 7 days to get out considered just as bad?

No because you apply prior to until date of current extension. Means you don't move into overstay basket. Its not an issue.

I'm a learner so realize i have limited knowledge. Thing is its just a application. Its not a blue stamp at border, overstay note etc etc. Edited July 13, 2019 by DrJack54

Matzzon
The simple answer is that you can´t extend after getting 30 days already, and that is why your extension is beeing denied. When that happens, they give you 7 days to leave the country. Not at all anything that has to do with an overstay or an overstay stamp.

It is better than an overstay for sure. Overstays make you a "criminal", you get a piece of paper with the Royal Thai Police logo, that, if you read, it seriously does make you feel like a criminal. Extensions refused is not in the same league. Anyway, I totally advise against this. Last time, I was asked on "why did I extend".... Never mind extension denied. So go figure.
