I've been back in the UK for a week and the loading time for each page has never been less than 20 seconds, today it is taking 30-45.

The connection gets lost completely most days, lasting 15-20 minutes and occuring 2-3 times a day.

I've got an 8meg broadband cable connection and loading times for all other sites are virtually instant.

I've cleared cookies etc. This post is only meant as a heads up as I know there is ongoing work to improve the situation.

We have no reports of any current problems. Could you please do a traceroute and post the results here (or PM me).

Thanks! :o

Ooops sorry George! Should have done that first.

There's 11 hops and the fault is between hop 1 and 2 with a big variation in speed.

Still seems to be affecting my connection with ThaiVisa more than anything, strange but true.

Everything between hop 3 and 11 is up in the red zone.

I've had my coffee, time to make some calls.

What is a traceroute?

That doesn't look too bad actually. Try flushing your DNS cache and checking to make sure your DNS servers are setup correctly.

I haven't got a clue what DNS is. I've got a Degree in computer illiteracy.

I logged out, deleted the link from favorites. Entered the address and logged back in and it seems better.

Fingers crossed.

You are not even in my league Robbo :o

I couldn't get it to work, ( what a surprize ) but it doesn't matter as the test run explained what you were saying, I presume each hop relates to the next server it goes thru before being relayed onto its next port of call to the fianal destination.

So you answered my question even though it kept saying test failed.

Thanks for that

Good Luck
