How's partial pay calculated (is there a law)?

Featured Replies

Many holidays in July? What to do? Mmm. Ah, yes. Let's divide the salary by the number of working days!

I don't know if there is a law, but if you are a paid by the month and have a contract which long term, then a month is generally considered to be 30 days.

I haven't been involved in any pay disputes but the basis of pay for the schools I am affiliated with use 20 working days for the month, regardless of the actual number.   Public holidays are considered to be working days, for the purpose of pay.

I know various schools have different policies, but these should be clear in the school's policy manual.
