Hello, its that time again when I need to apply for a Spouse extension to my O  visa.

I will be changing from a retirement extension to a marriage extension and feel a bit scared about making any mistakes  like I did last year when I transferred the 400K back into one of my other Bangkok bank accounts in Pattaya  3 days after the application  and was  subsequently refused the application with the officer saying that I had needed to pay the money back to some anonymous person  that I had borrowed it from (This was despite trying to get them to look at my other bank book from the same Bangkok bank in Pattaya  where the money had been transferred too)

My questions which I hope Ubon Joe may kindly comment on and any other people who know any  relevant updates on what I may have to expect in my application at Jomtien, thank you all in anticipation.

1 The form TM.7 which is on Thai-Visa  list of  downloadable  forms is dated 2006, is this still the latest version of this form?

2 How early can I make the application at Chonburri immigration?

3 Do I need a  "recent" confirmation of marriage from the local Amphur where my wife and I were married or willo a copy of our original marriage certificate be OK ?

4 Any other information that members think may be helpful in my application.

5 I seem to remember that Ubonjoe had some templates for the form filling  over written in English could anyone locate these for me please?

THank you.

1. No it is not. This is the new one.  Fillable TM7 form.pdf

Other updated forms are here in this pinned topic. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/631223-immigration-templates/

2. Thirty days.

3. You should have a recent print out of the Kor Ror 2 marriage registry that can be obtained at any Amphoe.

4. You could look at my general list of requirements.  Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf

Black and white are accepted. Certainly no need for color copies other than the photos.

It is only a "mistake" - in that you didn't know they were violating the rules they are supposed to follow, which require the money to be in the account prior to application - not held there until some later date.

But, as we all learn eventually, they don't care what the rules are.  They care that there was no envelope from an agent accompanying your passport.

Good luck this year - hope they have enough agent-applications lining their pockets, so they don't add too many "new unpublished requirements" to the list when you show up with everything you are "supposed to have."

Could anyone please advise;

If I submit the application one month prior to the end date of my previous  "extension"  what date do I write on the application?

In other words,

if I write the date of application (One month prior to the end of my current extension,   then all  the bank letters and statements  will also need to be dated the same date so will or  does this "affect" the issue date in any way of the my new extension?  ( Presuming I am successful in the application)

Thank you Joe!

I feel that because you always answer then  out of sheer courtesy  I should be really addressing my request for help to you but I realise that my questions have to be asked in the forum on a general  basis  so that they may also help other people with the same problem.

Having done this last year I am also very conscious that I should have kept copies etc of everything which you covered last year, this year I am making template so that maybe next year if I am still up and running it will be a little easier.

Certainly getting older doesn't help in filling these application forms in!

Hopefully just one more question regarding this paragraph

ข้าพเจ้าขอยื่นค าขออนุญาตเพื่ออยู่ในราชอาณาจักรเป็นการชั่วคราวต่อไปอีก มีก าหนด......................................................วัน                 I hereby apply for  extension  period of temporary stay in the Kingdom for……………days. เหตุผลที่ขออยู่ต่อ...................................................................................................................................................................................... Reasons of extension. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I answered "365 days and the reason for staying to live with my Thai lady wife"

Would this answer be OK

Thanks once again

Ref; my application for  a   Spouse extension to my  Non O visa , an update on what happened at the visit by the immigration police to check my application out.

Just had the "visit" from the Immigration police to check my spouse extension  application out.

Two Officers  came, one same  last year who last year was very friendly, this year came with obviously a more senior officer, all very correct and no small talk, noticeably cooler but still polite and  friendly

The Immigration rang us on the 12th of August to say they would come for this visit on the 14th of August with no time stated.

We got a phone call from them at 12 45 pm today the 14th  with 15 minutes notice that they were coming.

The Thai  lady neighbour  who we had previously arranged to have as our witness had gone out locally to do some shopping so now we are in panic mode because the Immigration officers need a witness with a blue book and ID card!

Another neighbour came to our rescue as our witness but then the Immigration police needed 2 copies of her blue book and also copies of her ID card,  plus photographs of my wife and I  sitting on a couch with her.

Luckily I have a Printer scanner so it was no problem but in the event I didn't have access to a scanner, maybe it could have delayed things a bit!

I post this information for those who may well be  "unprepared" as I was to what is needed practically.

It may well be prudent to have these copies done before the Immigration police arrive

2 copies of neighbours Blue book

2 copies of her ID

3 photographs of the applicant and his wife with the neighbour in different position in the house

I go to Immigration on Monday for my  "Spouse extension  application decision"  (30 days after application was made  )   and read in  another post this morning  on the  same subject that the applicant had to take  an update of his bank statements and bank book when he was doing the same thing.

Could anyone please confirm what I need to take with me?

Thank you

That depends upon the office you applied at.

Some offices are wanting proof the 400k baht is still in the bank on the day you get the one year extension stamp.

Just your updated bank book and a copy of it should be enough if needed.

Update to my reporting  to Chonburi immigration at Jomtien Pattaya after one month, to get the decision on my recent Spouse extension application to my non O visa.

All went well, I presented at around 9 30 am at Immi in Jomtien and asked for a ticket to go to desk 6 (The Spouse extension desk) Was told I didn't need one and approached the desk offering my passport to the lady there with some trepidity (Other people were there clutching appointment tickets and I felt like I was cheating).

Anyway after a little wait of maybe 2 minutes the young lady took my passport and asked me to wait.

After about a ten minute wait the same young lady gave me my passport back with everything finalised and  OK!

There were no requests for an updated Bank book !

Thanks to all who gave me help on this application and especially to ubonjoe.

Just as a footnote I have "Saved " all my application details as templates on my PC for next year (If I am lucky enough to survive another year )
