Visa on Arrival for Chinese. Free or 200 baht

Featured Replies

We arrived yesterday from China. I read somewhere about 6 weeks ago that my Chinese wife's VOA would be 2000 baht, ouch. When we met up she said she and others paid 200 baht so I thought I may have misread the web page. This morning, I just read that Thailand has had FREE VOA since November 2018 which they extended several times and the last one until October 2019. She brought her own photo so I was wondering what was the 200 baht for? I'm not complaining since I thought I'd be paying 2000B.

My Chinese wife hasn't paid for VOA since it came in. Of course previously she bought visas for the required fee at the local Thai Embassy, around 440 yuan if I remember correctly which would match your 2000baht figure, roughly, when the yuan was in better nick than it is now.
