Video: Newborn poisoned by mum and thrown off balcony - couple charged with murder

Thai media is reporting a shocking case of the murder of a newborn baby girl.

Wannaporn, 18, has admitted to poisoning her daughter and throwing her off a third floor balcony in a bin bag.

Thai TV reported that the tiny infant was found still alive in the trash - she grasped her rescuer's hand before dying after being taken to hospital.

Initially the mother denied the child was hers now DNA tests have forced her to admit what she did.

Her 23 year old boyfriend still denies involvement. Both have been charged with murder.

The baby was found in a black bin bag in the trash next to the condo in Chaeng Wattana - Pak Kret Soi 26 on July 23rd.

Police studied CCTV and were soon interviewing Wannaporn, a university student, in her third floor room.

They found sanitary pads and clothing stained with blood. The bathroom showed signs that it had recently been cleaned up of blood. Wannaporn denied knowing anything about the baby.

But DNA tests have proven she was the mother and her unemployed boyfriend Sutthirak, 23, was the father.

Now she has admitted what she did. She claimed that she did not know she was pregnant and gave birth to the girl in the bathroom of her condo.

She did not know what to do. She decided to kill the baby by pouring bathroom cleaning fluid into her mouth.

She then wrapped her in a cloth, put her in a bin bag and tossed her off the balcony into a trash dump below.

She was found by a member of the public still alive but died in hospital.

Sutthirak still denies any involvement saying he did not know his girlfriend was even pregnant.

Both have been charged with premeditated murder.

Desperately sad. This girl needs to reflect on what she has done for a very long time in a secure psychiatric hospital. Only someone who is a sandwich short of a picnic would commit such an awful act.

I don't wanna Porn! I hate Wannaporn that much that i don't find the right words now. If there's a hell, please get her there now.

Eric Clapton's son fell out of a window and he made this song. This song is for the little girl that had no chance to live her life.

   Eric's first time after..............

A deadly combination of social values dating back to the middle age, the status of women (compared to men) in Thailand, the poor education as well as the "never mind, lets bend the rules".

A woman not taking contraceptives is prone to .......... get pregnant - what did she expect, a colour TV?

Rest in peace, small child, you're in a better place than being around such "parents". Latter to be thrown in the slammer after getting sterilized - both will psychologically be able to bring up any children after murdering their first daughter.

How very, very sad, for the child, for the society and for the families of the culprits, whose education endeavours failed completely!

Easy to make judgements but we have no idea what brought her to do this or even if it was her or her useless boyfriend who actually killed the baby.  Many Thais live in fear and for many reasons.

Of course this will haunt her for her whole life and the fear now would probably be that she will take her own life.

These things are to be expected when society places such little importance on human life.

Off topic, I apologize, but you do realize there is discussion going on this moment in the USA regarding "late term abortions" which in simple terms means five minutes before the little child pops out of the home he's had for 9 months.  IMHO, that's murder.

Quite horrendous, but it happens often. Why couldn't she seek help I wonder?

Why not take the baby to a hospital & leave it there in the care of someone who would find it... even if you ran away.

Better than poisoning & throwing it off a balcony to die in agony !

I read this on here yesterday but at the time I was too shocked, sickened & sad to reply, Thailand really needs to educate its young about birth control, and that if an unwanted pregnancy does occur that there are options open to them about what to do.

I have only been commenting on here for about 3 years but have been reading it for so much longer and the amount of times this has happened is unreal, babies being buried alive in sugar fields, mother who already has 4 kids dumps newborn in trash can accompanied by one of her kids etc etc, and so it goes on, please Thailand get a grip of your kids and educate them. ????????

And for Women and Men who commit the same sort of crimes in other countries?

The same causation reasons as outlined in your first paragraph?

False, it’s actually quite easy to judge here regardless of her situation.

Kaosot thai news say the the DNA test say NOT the father.

also say the baby had toilet cleaner put in the eye, nose and mouth. And the baby live for one week after that.
