Eligibility for WP with a Non Imm O visa (accompany working spouse basis)

Apologies if this information is available.  Extensive searching did not locate a clear answer.  Getting conflicting information from Immigration and Ministry of Labour.

 

In the case of a foreign spouse with an existing Non Imm O visa based on accompanying their foreign spouse here for work (with Non Imm B and WP), are they eligible to also apply for a WP through a potential employer?  Or must they cancel their Non Imm O and also obtain a Non Imm B visa to be eligible?  Or other.....?

Most work permit offices will not accept an application with a  non-o visa or extension to stay granted for being the spouse of a person on a extension of stay like you have.

You will need to non-b visa but you will first need a work permit application approval letter to do the application which may require getting a tourist visa to do the application.
