Rdrokit
I am here on a OA retirement visa and have heard conflicting stories on what personal items a retiree can import duty free. Can you import your car duty free, household items? Any of you out there on a retirement OA visa shed some light. Thanks, rdrokit
Crossy
A CAR!! AFAIK The duty-free import of anything (on an O-A visa) was done away with last year (and cars were specifically excluded before that) Edited March 19, 2007 by Crossy

astral
Sad to say, but an O-A visa carries no rights of tax or duty free importation at all. Not exactly designed to encourage retirement in Thailand. PS. Find a shipping agent. They can usually arrange importation of household goods for a "fixed fee" in lieu of duty. lopburi3
Before we marry all us geezers off; that will only work if the Thai spouse has been living overseas and is returning with there HHE. A spouse in Thailand will just be an added expense.
