Norwegian out on bail following death of British man at Centara Grand Resort in Phuket

The bbc.com are reporting that a British man died at the Centara Grand Hotel in Phuket in a fight after telling another guest to “keep the noise down” as his wife and son tried to sleep, according to the man’s family.

United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) chairman Jatuporn Promphan and two former red-shirt leaders, Natthawut Saikua and Arisman Pongruangrong, have been ordered by the Supreme Court to collectively pay 19.3 million baht compensation for the destruction by fire of a building in downtown Bangkok during the red-shirt protests against the Abhisit administration in 2010.

Lending guidelines planned to reduce Thailand’s household debt

Thailand’s commercial banks have recently agreed, in principle, with the Bank of Thailand to set lending guidelines by limiting a borrower’s debt-to-service ratio (DSR) to 70%, for those earning up to Bt30,000 per month, in an effort to fix expanding household debt, which is regarded as risk to overall financial stability.

BANGKOK (NNT) - Government Spokesperson Prof. Naruemol Phinyosinwat disclosed today that Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gene Prayut Chan-o-cha is satisfied with the effort being made in Thailand, to eliminate the problem of ivory poaching and sales, after Thailand was removed from the blacklist of CITES’s ivory smuggling countries last year.

Four airlines allow fresh fruit packs on flights free of charge

BANGKOK (NNT)- The Ministry of Commerce has arranged with four airlines to allow passengers to carry a maximum of 20 kilograms of fresh fruit on individual flights free of charge. The measure is intended to help reduce the surplus of fresh fruit currently being produced, and bolster prices in the domestic market.

BAAC provides loans for purchase or repair of income-related motorcycles
