With Taco Bell in the line up...

Watchout B King.....if "In and Out Burger gets into the mix, that'll make it interesting....

I have always wondered why.

I don't like any food from McDonald's, only the fried Chicken.

KFC makes me feel sick after I eat it as its so greasy and fatty (so not been there for many years).

But, Burger King has some delicious things.  However, I don't go there often as the prices are a rip off.  Perhaps only 2 times a year.

The extra is for all the oil on their beef, I found  their food disgusting and haven't been back!

Scam?  They sell burgers.  You want burger.  You give them money.  They give you burger.  There's nothing scammy about that.

You carry on with the McDonalds 28 Baht masterpieces.

Me and my millions will be down at BK.  ????

Not sure about the prices 100%, but iirc:

Big Mac set costs about 180 THB

Whopper set costs about 210 THB

These sets are about comparable and as we can see the Whopper set costs about 15% more.

Yes, there is a difference, but imho it's not a lot.

If there are alternatives depends on where you live, for example in Chiang Mai we have quite a few alternatives, which offer more burger for the money.

I remember that in the UK BK meals started getting very expensive, like seven quid and up for a decent meal. Definitely more substantial than what you get at McD. The last time I had a BK was at Don Mueang, it was about 450 baht if I remember correctly, which is over 12 GBP, absolutely stupid price for a fast food meal.

But this is because you chose the Double Whopper menu with cheese and bacon (at airports they like to show only menus with extras), and of course airport pricing.

I think the Golden Arches and other chains of that ilk are to be avoided at all costs, irrespective of the money they charge.

Uh yeah, airports are stupid.  ????

Yup.

I much prefer the flame grilled (or whatever) taste the odd time I go for some fast food (once or twice a month)

Burger King's XL bacon double cheeseburger meal is an excellent breakfast after a heavy night in Bangkok.

Surely there is better food to be found for a quick meal than that ovepriced slop.

I like them both every now and again. BK is quite a bit more expensive. Normally get them when i am hungover and quite frankly could not give a toss if i am paying a couple of hundred baht more for a BK. I presume this is the same for many.

A fatty, greasy meal when hungover is a good choice, it gets the gall bladder pumping and makes you feel a bit more human.

Carl's Jr. Is better anyway if you're willing to spend the money. I always feel ripped off after a burger king because it's not nice enough to warrant the price. Carl's Jr. is another story, expensive but worth it.

Sure is.  But every now and then, a "slop" burger from BK hits the spot, despite the totally outrageous, pension busting price tag.  ????

Finally, the Elitists arrive. ????????

I can hear the gasps from the audience to the sound of 1 satang coins dropped on the tile floor.  Well Mavis, if I cut out one large Chang, maybe by next month we split a Carl's Jr Famous Star.  No cheese, onions or pickles, cause they make me fart.

Mark up for prime site (air-side at international airport). Same meal is probably 380 baht in malls, highway service stations and the like. Also the menu is more limited at airport outlets versus their standalone stores.

BK Angus beef special is like heaven when you don't have ready easy access to them.

I like Carl Juniors, especially there milkshakes, but they need to up their french fry game.

Still in the fast food hangover bracket, nothing beats a Double Big Mac Meal with 3-4 Ice cream sundaes, and perhaps a 10 packet of nuggets.

Too specific details in a post caused it's removal under forum rule 6.

Burger King's burger is superior to McDonald's I suspect because they use better raw ingredients, that they have to pay more for. So the price is higher for a legitimate reason. If you go to a specialist burger restaurant they use even better raw materials, and the burger is therefore even more expensive.

You get what you pay for.

On a personal level, I can never work out why anybody buys McDonald's, absolute <deleted> and way overpriced.

McDonalds sausage, egg, cheese McMuffin.  Woot!

The thing that's worse than one of those, is none at all.  Because you rocked up at 10:01am.  Crestfallen, you settle for a quarter-pounder with cheese, fries...... and a diet coke. ????

That's as may be, but if you don't have or see western fast food on a regular basis, and you haven't seen or had one for 6months or more they are kind of a comfort food and a welcome break from continual Thai food offerings day in day out for westerners.

Bang on the money. After months of som tam, khanom jeen and bowls of insipid grey garbage with floating bits, a McDonalds triple cheeseburger is an absolute taste sensation. Shame my nearest McD is a 90 minute drive away, and the nearest BK is over 6 hours away.

Have not had any "western fast food"  for more than two decades, be it golden arches or any other type, and before that maybe once a year to make sure it was as disgusting as the time before
