Would you prefer to die instead of using all your money to keep you alive? Good question. Kind of a catch 22 there. If I use all my money to keep myself alive, what would I use to live on? I know, kind of morbid thinking. I've decided to go see a doctor but need to find a good 1 that is reasonably priced to see if it's controllable or not and at what price. I'll post the results but it'll be at least next week as my wife had to go home to help mom for a few days since she had an accident. There was an earlier post recommending a good hospital so I might go there while she's away. I'm undecided if she should or shouldn't be there for the results. Sheryl
If you see a competent neurologist and opthalmologist, good chance of an accurate diagnosis or at least exclusion of serious cause. . Basically you want to exclude a TIA and also retinal detachment. If you go see a local GP then indeed unlikely to be able to make much out if it. Possible this was a type of migraine but the more serious issues mentioned need to be ruled out. Been upping my water intake to replace loss of beer intake. ????

Badrabbit
Possible Migraine which the effects can last for days! It started on Monday and hasn't gotten any better (4 days now). I have no idea what could be causing it. I get a mild temporal headache on the right side, my vision goes double and slightly blurry and I lose all depth perception. If I close my right eye the vision clears but still poor depth perception. I did a medical check for my work permit 3 months ago and the doctor said my blood pressure was normal which for me is not normal. It's always been slightly high but that was while I was drinking 3-4 large Heinekens every day. I stopped drinking back in April mostly out of being bored with it and to save some money. 1 of the teachers I work with suggested it might be low blood pressure which again, for me would be REALLY unusual. I have been going through my yearly stress of getting my marriage visa extension but with all the newly added BS hoops this year plus a brand new immigration office. I still smoke which is 1 factor for a slightly higher blood pressure. I haven't been sick or changed my diet in any way. I turn 60 in Oct. so not really old per say. I haven't gone to a doctor yet because I don't know what kind of doctor to see and I haven't had much free time with work. Any thoughts or similar experiences to share would be appreciated.Sent from my SM-G610F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Wongkitlo
Just an update: No insurance means trying homeopathic remedies based on input from "mom" (mil) and the elderly of the village. Cleared up the cyst with these strange gooy patches that drew out all the toxins. The dizzy spells and blurred tunnel vision just went away as did the bloodshot eyes and imbalance. Still get the occasional spots circling around the peripheral vision area if I cough too hard.Same with my wife. Dr said vertigo. Just became better after a few days. Mansell
If you want to see excellent eye doctors go to Rutnin Eye Hospital. Eyes are all they deal with.....they will give you a bunch of eye tests and give you a good result pertaining to your issues. It is about a kilo from Osok Sky train station. if you cannot get there because of the wife issues, go online and do a search on vertigo....there are some very simple exercises that might remove the dizziness issues......at least you can try something while you wait. Good luck.

" The symptoms of retinal detachment include many floaters in your vision all at once, bright flashes of light in your peripheral vision, blind spots, loss of vision, or blurred vision." " Many conditions can cause retinal detachment, including an eye injury, eye surgery, diabetes, or an inflammatory disorder. Sometimes it occurs for no apparent cause." you really need to get to a doctor. even at a expensive hospital like Bumrungrad I have been able to get a diagnoses for less that 2000-3000 baht. at least you would know how to proceed. [emoji846] Were are you located? If in Bangkok and wanting minimal cost, this government hospital specializes in neurology http://pni.go.th/pnigoth_en/ And for eye, http://www.metta.go.th/ main hospital is in Nakorn Pathom, there is also a branch in bangkok on Sukhumvit near Ekamai http://www.mettaeyecare.org/th/ And of course there are many private options but as cost seems to be a major concern, try these first
Arkady
I don't think detached retina causes headaches and it can progress rapidly and might have already caused loss of vision since the OP's first post. Many serious eye conditions, such as detached retina, macular hole etc just do their thing and degenerate vision without causing any pain. Assuming it is something wrong with the eye(s) and not a neurological problem, glaucoma is a possible culprit which causes pain and also requires urgent treatment. Anyway OP, please follow Sheryl's wise advice and see and a neurologist and an eye specialist as soon as you can. Given the long queues for appointments at government hospitals going via the emergency room, as Sheryl suggested, might be a good idea. You can say the symptoms suddenly got worse to justify going to the ER. Take along a power bank for your phone while you wait.

Save me an "I don't know. Go see a specialist" fee. ???? If you go to any big hospital they will have lots of doctors there. When you arrive they will ask you for your symptoms and they will send you to one doctor which they think can check it. And I am sure if that doctor can't do it he will send you to another doctor in the same hospital on the same day. Just checking is often not expensive. It might get expensive for special diagnosis and treatment. But first things first. First find out what the problem is. Any doctor will be able to do that better then all TV members together without seeing you. Just do it!
