EVERY woman wants security but to LIE is just BS. WHY is she making a statement that she needs this money to get a visa? Is it because she knows from other people's experiences or from what she hears from other Thais, either way its NOT true. THEY as a couple have to prove that there is a relationship and that the party in question is not going to be a burden on the English side of things and that she has reason to come back to Thailand, other than that, it's a moot point.

If she insists on the money, DUMP her.

The rumour amounst most Thais is that you need lots of cash in the bank and this rumour is perpetuated on and on so its not surprising she is convinced you do need that. Doesn't make her a golddigger and even if she is thats between the OP and his g/f
